The John Teele Pratt residence designed by Charles A. Platt c. 1915 on East 61st Street in New York City. Click HERE to see John Teele Pratt's Long Island estate by Charles Platt in Glen Cove. The city residence in no longer standing, replaced with a courtyard for a modern apartment building.

The Commodore Hotel

The Commodore Hotel designed by Warren & Wetmore c. 1919 East 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue in New York City. The hotel was built to service Grand Central Station and shared a garage with the New York Biltmore Hotel, the Commodore's sister hotel next door. The building was purchased by Donald Trump in the mid 1970s and completely gut renovated becoming the the Grand Hyatt New York. Click HERE to see the Trump incarnation on google earth. I've filed this post under 'demolished' because even though the structure still stands there is little left to remind us of the Commodore.

The Wyck Estate

The Wyck Estate, the George Robert White residence designed by Bigelow & Wadsworth with R.H. Wambolt c. 1912 in Manchester, Massachusetts. White was a noted Boston philanthropist and owner of the Potter Drug and Chemical Company. The home was for sale in 2008 for $12,250,000, click HERE for more. The Henry B. Babson Residence

The Henry B. Babson residence designed by Louis H. Sullivan c. 1907 in Riverside, Illinois. Babson sold Edison phonographic machines nationwide. Click HERE for more on the Babson residence including some old autochromes. The home has since been demolished.

540 Park Avenue

540 Park Avenue designed by William A. Boring c. 1908 on Park Avenue at East 61st Street. Boring was half the firm of Boring & Tilton, designers of Ellis Island among other notable NYC buildings. 540 Park Avenue was demolished in the 1960s and replaced with the Regency Hotel.

The E.J. Bliss Residence

The Elmer Jared Bliss estate designed by Clough & Wardner c. 1904 in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Bliss was founder of the Regal Shoe Company and held 87 patents related to shoe manufacturing. He was president, vice president or director at 27 other organizations including banks and insurance companies. It is unknown if the house is extant.

'Franklin Farm'

'Franklin Farm', the Benjamin Franklin Jones estate designed by Rutan & Russell c. 1900 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Jones was an early iron and steel industrialist involved with the Jones and Laughlin Steel Company. The house sat on Blackburn Road but has since been demolished.

The New York Chamber of Commerce Building

The New York Chamber of Commerce Building designed by James B. Baker c. 1902 on Liberty Street in New York City. Since 1991 the building has been the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. The Thomas H. Kerr Residence

The Thomas H. Kerr residence designed by Albro & Lindeberg c. 1910 in White Plains, New York. In 1931 the home was acquired by the Contemporary club (now the Woman's Club of White Plains) and the group added a ballroom in 1932. In 2010 the residence was added to the National Register.
