Beyond the Gilded Age Turns 1!

And just like that Beyond the Gilded Age is a year old.  In the last year there have been 321 posts featuring over 125 architects, 14 states and over 175 private residences (along with plenty of other types of buildings).  So here's to another year.

Happy Birthday to the Gilded Age. Some of you may be interested in an article about the controversy over extensive renovations planned for the New York Public Library (the one with the lions outside) which is in the current issue of Vanity Fair.

Just checked and the article is already on line at http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/2012/12/new-york-public-library-re-model-controversy

Cake? Is there cake? Did I miss it?

You've unearthed some marvelous stuff--here's to another year.

Paticia, I read the Vanity Fair article a couple of days ago, and have been sending it to interested friends--it definitely resonates.

I have avidly enjoyed the house porn and seeing floor plans I didn't even know existed. Greatly appreciate the work.
