'Hopedene'
'Hopedene', the Mrs. Elizabeth Hope Gammell Slater residence designed by Peabody & Stearns between 1899-1902 in Newport, Rhode Island. Ogden Codman designed the interiors of the larger rooms. 'Hopedene' experienced some alterations over the years and was eventually willed to the Newport Preservation Society which sold the house back into private hands.
