The William W. Cook Residence

The William W. The Gould Riding Academy

 The Gould Riding Academy designed by York & Sawyer for Frank Jay Gould c. 1901 at 217 West 57th Street in New York City.  Gould was the son of railroad tycoon Jay Gould.  The riding academy was demolished c. 1950.

The New York Orthopedic Dispensary and Hospital

 The New York Orthopedic Dispensary and Hospital designed by York & Sawyer c. 1915 on East 59th Street in New York City.  Founded in 1866 following the aftermath of the Civil War, the hospital was intended to help "in the treatment of crippled children and adults."  Click HERE and HERE for more on the New York Orthopedic Dispensary and Hospital.  The hospital was merged with Columbia Presbyterian in the 1950s and the building was later demolished.

The Free Public Baths

Two Free Public Bath buildings designed by York & Sawyer c. 1904 in New York City, one at 327 West 41st Street and the other at 243 East 109th Street. The Curtis House

The Charles B. Curtis residence designed by York & Sawyer c. 1900 on East 54th Street in New York City. Curtis was a lawyer who appears to have built this residence when he was in his early 70s. The home is no longer standing.
